The thin skins on your chickpeas are bringing your recipes down! These dried peeled chickpeas are not like standard dried or canned chickpeas...they're a game-changer for making heavenly hummus at home (so light! So smooth!), and any recipe that calls for chickpeas. No long soak is needed. To prepare, cover by several inches with cold water and a big pinch of salt, and bring to a boil. Reduce to simmer and cook, adding more water as needed, for about 2 hours or until tender. 10 oz. dried peeled chickpeas.

Month 2: Zejd Mint Infused, 250 ml
In addition to growing the wonderful Sourani olive varietal in the Akkar Region in Northern Lebanon, which is then infused with local spearmint, Zejd is also an olive oil emporium with its flagship location in the Achrifieh neighborhood of Beirut.  Use this unique oil to flavor salads, vegetables or enhance any food with a splash of that Lebanese favorite flavor maker: mint!

Month 3: Lelo, 500 ml
Lelo’s extra virgin olive oil comes hand picked from family owned groves in Southern Lebanon.  Elie Nassar’s family uses the same techniques passed down through generations to wash, grind and press the olive fruit within 24 hours of harvest to yield a velvety oil with a fine peppery kick.

Grown and pressed in Deir Mimas, the ancestral village of the Abood family, Zetune is a particularly smooth oil well suited to both cooking and finishing.  This oil from Southern Lebanon rounds out any extra virgin olive oil collection.

Month 6: Maalouf Authentic 1.5L
This special oil comes from producer Chafic Maalouf’s historic family orchards in Koura where his family has been growing olives and pressing oil since 1959.  Buttery, full-bodied and excellent for finishing, Maalouf Authentic extra virgin olive oil is a limited release oil that is especially appreciated by olive oil connoisseurs for its prized almond aftertaste.
